I’ve always wanted to include a regular reading list of interesting blog posts here at The Diversionist, but I rarely find myself with the necessary time to sit down and put one together. io9 // The 22 rules of storytelling according to Pixar
There are some really great gems in here about storytelling from Pixar storyboard artist Emma Coats. One I’ve long held dear to my heart is “Come up with your ending before you figure out your middle”. Via Complications Ensue.
TV Eh? // Rewind: Twitch City and SCTV
A good friend of mine, Dexter Brown, has begun writing for one of my favourite sites, TV Eh?. So, check out his above articles, the first and second in a series about Canadian television of the past.
A TV Calling // Spec Script Recommendations List 2012 Comedy and Drama
Alex Freedman’s excellent annual breakdown of what shows prospective television writers should be speccing this year.
All Things D // Kickstarter Commits to Sharing Daily Stats
I’ve been an outspoken fan of crowdfunding and Kickstarter/IndieGoGo in general, and this article is mildly interesting in that it demonstrates the scope of the site. $261 million dollars launched, and only a merely $27 million of that pledged to unsuccessful projects? That’s a pretty strong ratio.
I’ll try to keep up with these as time goes on.
